On March 21, members of Crombie’s Western Canada office volunteered at Brenda’s House, an emergency shelter in Calgary for families who are currently experiencing homelessness. Opening its doors in 2009, Brenda’s House is run by the Children’s Cottage Society and can accommodate up to 14 families. After a brief facility tour, the team was put to work – making lunch, preparing dinner, cleaning toys, organizing the pantry and assisting with food deliveries – a busy but fun day! Departing with many thanks from the staff and families, we look forward to our next visit.
