Position Summary

Based out of New Glasgow or Halifax, NS, the Analyst, Internal Reporting provides support and analysis for department projects, identifies opportunities for process improvements, and provides support for Crombie’s Internal Reporting Team and other teams. Additional duties of the Analyst, Internal Reporting include but are not limited to:

  • Performs moderately complex analysis to assigned projects and special tasks.
  • Supports various projects from start to completion as determined by the department head.
  • Collaborates with the Accounting and Financial Reporting Teams (AR, AP and Accounting) to identify areas of process improvement and act as lead and point for assigned department/organizational initiatives, testing and policy/procedure development.
  • Provides ownership and guidance to facilitate and implement new processes.
  • Develops and communicates standard operating procedures, templates, and playbooks for the department and develop process maps as the foundation for all process improvement and project roadmaps.
  • Supports the Accounting Team as needed with monthly reporting or special tasks.
  • Collaborates with other stakeholders to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the function.
  • Ensures Crombie processes or reporting functions follow all accounting standards.
  • Monitors, tracks and reports on various metrics and provides ad hoc analysis and support to Management, Directors and Vice Presidents as required.
  • Provides ownership and leadership to special projects and project team(s) as assigned, in addition to providing reporting metrics to direct manager and senior leadership on project progress.
  • Supports the budgeting process to identify areas for process improvements.
  • Demonstrates awareness of corporate strategy, personal and team goals, and strives to achieve them.
  • Approaches work with a critical thinking mindset and takes sensible risks in support of the business strategy.
  • Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Other special projects and tasks as assigned.

The profile we are looking for

  • Knowledge of full-cycle accounting and transaction processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years’ experience in a related position.
  • Proven experience as an Accounting professional and/or in process optimization.
  • Confident leading organizational change.
  • CPA or working towards a designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience in logically and rationally documenting processes using flow charts and presenting findings and recommendations to various levels of senior management.
  • Highly proficient with Yardi, MS Office Suite, etc.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification an asset.
