Position Summary

Based out of New Glasgow or Halifax, NS, the Intern, Internal Reporting & Recoveries provides support and analysis for Crombie’s recoveries and internal reporting teams. This role is a key member of the Crombie team, and collaborates across the organization to improve on streamlining processes. Additional duties of the Intern, Internal Reporting & Recoveries include but are not limited to:

  • Performs moderately complex analysis to assigned projects and special tasks.
  • Collaborates with the Accounting and Financial Reporting Teams (AR, AP and Accounting) to identify areas of process improvement and acts as a point person for assigned department/organizational initiatives, testing and policy/procedure development.
  • Aids in the Lease Recovery process, including but not limited to; data gathering and input of information to required systems, implementation and providing recommendations for continuous improvements and advancements.
  • Provides support to the recoveries and internal reporting teams to streamline the inquiry process.
  • Ensures all Crombie processes or reporting functions follow all applicable accounting standards.
  • Monitors, tracks and reports on various metrics and provides ad hoc analysis and support to Manager, Recoveries and Analytics and the Manager, Internal Reporting as required.
  • Supports the team in special projects as needed and provides report metrics to direct manager on project progress.
  • Develops an understanding of Crombie accounting systems and platforms, and assists in identifying opportunities for process and workflow improvements.
  • Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Other special projects and tasks as assigned.

The profile we are looking for

  • Enrolled full-time in a post-secondary program with a focus in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related area.
  • Able to arrive at a job location and commit to 4 months full-time contract employment from May until the end of August.
  • Strong organizational, communication and attention to detail skills.
  • Candidates enrolled in a co-op program will be considered a strong asset.
