Position Summary
Based out of Mississauga, ON, the Intern, Leasing contributes to Crombie REIT’s success by assisting the leasing team with department initiatives by providing support, assisting with research, reviewing leases, participating in meetings, and assisting with process improvements within the team to ensure seamless operations of the department. Additional duties of the Intern, Leasing include but are not limited to:
- Assists the Leasing team with market information and research.
- Works collaboratively with the Leasing Team to ensure seamless operation of the department.
- Participates in portfolio review meetings with the Leasing team and takes meeting notes to document required action items.
- Reviews leases and renewal options for existing tenants over a five-year period.
- Analyzes the forecasting renewals and SANOI process to assist in updating the process to improve efficiency and accuracy of forecast through Yardi systems.
- Reviews leases and tracks special leasing clauses that could generate risk such as: termination rights, co-tenancy provisions, etc.
- Completes analysis based on special clauses tracked to create a 5-year tenant watch list and risk assessment of Crombie portfolio.
- Assists with reviewing and updating leasing plans
- Assists with process improvement initiatives within the Leasing department.
- Conducts analysis for capturing leasing Capex spend in 2025 and beyond.
- Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
- Other special projects and tasks as assigned.
The profile we are looking for
- Enrollment in a full-time post-secondary education program with a focus in Business Administration, and/or Management, Urban Planning, Commerce, Economics, or related programs.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
- Able to arrive at job location in May and commit to 4 months full-time contract employment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Candidates enrolled in a co-op program will be considered a strong asset.
