Position Summary

The Manager, ESG Reporting ensures robust internal and external ESG reporting is aligned to industry and reporting standards. In addition, the role collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance data accuracy and processes, as well as advance Crombie’s ESG strategy and initiatives. Additional duties of the Manager, ESG Reporting include but are not limited to:

  • Manages Crombie’s ESG reporting and content development, establishing data governance and reporting procedures to drive our ESG strategy forward in alignment with CSSB, GRESB, and other reporting benchmarks and standards.
  • Proactively stays current on all ESG reporting and compliance standards and developments, collaborating with key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure compliance with all ESG reporting requirements.
  • Manages and coordinates ESG public disclosures including our ESG Report, quarterly disclosures, benchmark submissions, Climate Action/Decarbonization plan reporting, and collaborates with various business units and oversight of any third parties involved.
  • Works closely with various individuals across different teams to enhance policies and processes to ensure accurate and quality data
  • Understands Crombie’s ESG strategy and targets and reports progress and impact of potential initiatives to various key stakeholders across the organization
  • Works collaboratively with all key stakeholder groups, including management to understand business objectives, and align with financial and operational strategy.
  • Performs ad hoc analysis, reporting, and research, summarizing strategic insights and recommendations as required.
  • Assists with preparing presentations for Senior Management and the Board of Trustees.
  • Cultivates strong working relationships across all departments and builds positive relationships with external business partners.
  • Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Other special projects and tasks as assigned.

The profile we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance related field or MBA.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in sustainability/ESG, finance, or accounting positions.
  • Experience with ESG Reporting is considered an asset.
  • CPA, CFA designations are considered assets.
  • Knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements for public companies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Word, and research tools.
  • Ability to manage complex workload and prioritize appropriately.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create concise and engaging messaging to a wide range of audiences.
  • Knowledge of real estate, capital markets, market drivers, and economic trends.
  • Comfortable working with executive leadership.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
