Crombie’s proposed phased master plan development for this site is aligned with the Regional Plan’s intent for developing lands within Urban Local Growth Centres, as it proposes a high density, transit-oriented development with a pedestrian oriented street network and built form, landscaped open spaces suitable for an urban environment, and enhanced connectivity to the surrounding area.

Looking down the road at the full master plan, the project proposes the addition of mixed-use buildings, with residential and commercial space, and parking (both underground and at grade). The site is directly adjacent to the intersection of two planned Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Routes that are part of Halifax’s Rapid Transit Strategy, which includes four BRT lines and three new ferry routes, further enabling the creation of a complete community by orienting land use towards transit.
